Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County, Inc has held the largest and most successful parade events in Connecticut, celebrating our rich heritage and history. The parade is a culmination of our annual events in which over 100,000 people from the New England and Tri-State areas participate and attend to celebrate together as one.
A Word from the President
¡Bienvenidos!
My name is Jacqueline Rivera, and I am the President of the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County, Inc. Our organization was established in 1993 by Cruzmilda “Millie” Maldonado. For the past 19 years, we have been celebrating the beauty and richness of our culture. Our Parade is a culmination of cultural and educational events hosted throughout the year with the primary focus, of enhancing the image of Puerto Ricans in our community. We are extremely proud of our achievements. The Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County, Inc. has awarded over $60,000 in scholarships to participants of our cultural pageants. This competition, instills the value and importance of pride in our young people by teaching them, who they are. Community service and involvement is also prevalent in our organization. It is of the upmost importance, that we support all efforts that improve the quality of life for Puerto Ricans and all groups in our community.
This year’s Parade theme is, Nuestras Raíces Inspiradas a Través de Nuestra Música (Our Roots Inspired Through Our Music). As we prepare for this year’s celebration, we become much more excited about our theme. Music is a universal language that will allow us to share and educate others on the richness of our roots, utilizing a vehicle that captures everyone’s attention and reaches deep into the soul......Music!
We strongly encourage you to become involve and help us make this year and every year a success. You can support our organization by becoming a member or volunteer. As a nonprofit organization, our goals can only be achieved with the help of sponsor’s or donor’s contributions.
